Why is the firmware upgrade necessary for HM-CFG-USB2?

Hi,

I’m trying to setup the system using the USB connector from HomeMatic
I’m following these steps: git.zerfleddert.de/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi/hmcfgusb
I was wondering, why the firmware update is necessary
Can I find the firmware anywhere on the HomeMatic website?

Hey Peter,

actually I don’t think, the firmware update is mandatory. And yes, you can find the firmware update on the eq-3 website (http://www.eq-3.de/downloads.html). Look for the firmware update tool.
